Wine from winery Celler del Roure

Discover the best wines produced by the Celler del Roure winery

Celler del Roure is a small family winery of D.O. Valencia, a winery in constant search for territorial identity. The recovery of native varieties that were almost extinct, like the Mandó and the Arco, of which some farms with old vines have been recovered, or the production of wine in clay jars, an ancient tradition in the Mediterranean area. These are some examples of identity and attachment to the land. Honest, authentic wines, linked to the land.

More about Celler del Roure

The vineyards are located in four properties located on the northern slope of the Serra Grossa, about 550 meters asl Although this is always hillside soils poor in organic matter, the parcels have different textures, active lime content and microclimatic differences that determine the selection of varieties and clones most interesting traditional and foreign. In terms of its better adaptation to climate and soil conditions of each parcel is chosen by the introduction of varieties of grapevines sent (traditional variety, has almost disappeared, which was largely in the area together with the Monastrell), monastrell, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, grenache shark and petit verdot.

Celler del Roure develops various lines of research, in collaboration with various departments of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, on cultivation techniques (effects of water stress control through micro sprinkler irrigation, adaptive driving systems, permanent vegetative cover, integrated production, etc.), and techniques for making and aging (monitoring of polyphenols in various mortifications, changes during aging, etc.).. The winery began its activity with the harvest of 2000, producing about 40,000 kg of red grape varieties in nine four fermentations. Harvest of 2008 was produced 300,000 kg. of eight red grape varieties in more than fifty fermentations.
