Valduero Crianza Dos Maderas is a red wine from the Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Valduero, a family winery located in Gumiel del Mercado, 16 km from Aranda de Duero (Burgos).
Bodegas Valduero is characterized by the development of varietal wines of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), which possess 200 hectares, this variety best suits high profile wines from Ribera del Duero.
Tinto Fino grapes used for Valduero Crianza Dos Maderas come from old vines 30 years old, located at an altitude of 829m. The vineyards are planted in poor, dry soils with a clayey-calcareous character.
For its preparation, the grapes are harvested by hand and immediately transported to the winery in 14kg boxes.
Fermentation is carried out for 9 days at a temperature of between 23 and 28ºC before a maceration of about 10 days.
Before hitting the market, the wine rests in oak barrels for 15 months and in the bottle for 12 months.

Founded in the mid-80s, Valduero was one of the first wineries in Ribera de Duero. At that time, when the area was virtually unknown, they decided to take a chance on it, and explore its potential for making quality wines. Structure, acidity and personality combined with the roundness and balance provided by the barrel aging, these are excellent Ribera de Duero wines. Try them!
