Finca Azaya

Finca Azaya is a red wine produced by Bodegas Valduero with the Tinto Fino variety (Tempranillo) in VT Castilla-León.

Valduero consists of a family winery located in the town of Gumiel de Mercado (Burgos), in the heart of Ribera de Duero . One of the first projects that began in the region and that helped to internationalise the winemaking qualities of an area that was little-known until then. At present, Yolanda García Viadero, daughter of the founder, is responsible for all the Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva wines produced by the winery. Quality wines with a global projection. 

Finca Azaya grapes come from 30 year old vineyards. Strains planted in soils of a clay-calcareous nature with a bush-trained system to limit the production in a natural way. The grapes are picked by hand and are transported immediately in 14 kg boxes.

In the cellar, the fermentation takes place at a temperature of between 23 and 28ºC, with a subsequent maceration. Finca Azaya remains in oak barrels for 14 months, and stabilises in the bottle for a minimum of 12 months before going on the market.

Finca Azaya is a red wine of world renown that in its 2017 vintage has been considered one of the best red wines in the world according to Decanter. Quite an opportunity to enjoy a winner.
