Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza

Red wine Crianza. 12 months in American oak barrels.
Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza 2018 exhibits a deep cherry hue with saffron reflections and a slightly orange-tinged rim. On the nose, it is distinguished by its profound aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and strawberries, accompanied by toasted notes and a hint of vanilla, with a backdrop of jam. On the palate, it is flavourful and smooth, with a blend of fresh fruit and a slight oxidation. Its balanced and spiced profile, along with a pleasant tannin, renders it a highly appealing wine.

About Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza
Señorío de P. Peciña Tinto Crianza is a red wine from Rioja produced by Bodegas Hermanos Peciña. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo (95%), Graciano (3%) and Garnacha (2%).
The grapes used to make this wine come from different vineyards 40 years old, grown on clay-calcerous soils.
The harvest is done manually in boxes of 15 kilos in order to prevent the clusters from being broken or fermented prematurely. The bunches are selected by four operators and they then pass through a small machine to be destemmed.
A filling system is then used by gravity with "falling deposits" so that the grains arrive intact in the deposits and do not undergo unnecessary oxidations.
Thanks to this process, a stemmed carbonic maceration is carried out, fermentation within the same grapes is achieved.
The grapes remain in the deposits at a temperature of between 10 ° and 12 ° for about three days for cold maceration. Alcoholic fermentation, which lasts about 15 days and takes place at a temperature of 26 degrees, is initiated spontaneously by the yeast.
This process is followed by steeping each week to have more colour extraction. There is then malolactic fermentation which lasts about two months before the wine is finally racked by settling in the tank in order to achieve maximum clarification.
The wine then spends two years in American oak barrels previously soaked in wine.
During this time four rackings are performed, one every six months using the traditional "Barrel to Barrel" method, thus avoiding filtering and clarification and maintaining the essence of wine.
Finally, Señorío de P. Peciña Tinto Crianza is aged for at least a year and a half in the bottle. Bodegas Hermanos Peciña was founded in 1992 by Pedro Crespo Peciña with her three children. It is located in the town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and invests in new projects, year after year.
