The Napoleonic wars, two world wars, the economic crisis and even Covid... Nothing can stop the Maison Louis Latour. Their secret is making their own wines since 1797 with the same quality commitment. As the seventh Louis Latour, representing the eleventh generation of the founding line of this legendary winery in Burgundy (France), explains, “each generation contributes something without forgetting the past.” This works very well for them because thousands of bottles from this historic winery are opened every year in the best restaurants in the world.
Among its great productions is Louis Latour Chablis La Chanfleure, a wine made from 30-year-old Chardonnay vines planted on limestone soil in the famous Kimmeridgian hills of the Chablis region, in the heart of Burgundy (France). Once the grapes have reached optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand and then taken to the winery in small crates. There the grapes are destemmed and pressed and the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and with complete malolactic fermentation. The wine then spends 8-10 months on lees in these same tanks.
This is a wine made by experts. Louis Latour Chablis La Chanfleure is the ultimate expression of the Chardonnay variety. A wine that the Latour family has been making since the 70s and, thanks to its freshness and minerality, it is completely irresistible.
Louis Latour Chablis La Chanfleure 2020 is an aromatic wine with fragrances of ripe apple and pear, citrus notes and hints of white flowers. On the palate it is pleasant, fresh and bright. A light yet enveloping wine, with lively acidity and a beautiful mineral finish.
