Josep Foraster Les Gallinetes is a caring, barrel-aged red wine made by Josep Foraster in the D.O. Conca de Barberà (Catalonia) with the Trepat, Syrah and Garnacha Tinta varieties.
A family winery in Montblanc, in the province of Tarragona, Josep Foraster owns two estates with 29 hectares of vineyards. He produces limited production wines using agriculture that takes into account the environment. He even collaborates with the social entity APRODISCA (Conca de Barberà Association for People with Mental Disability) to produce Josep Foraster Les Gallinetes, a wine that cares.
Josep Foraster Les Gallinetes comes from vineyards with a long family history. The vines lie on sunny slopes at an altitude of 370 m and they have been cultivated year after year by three generations dedicated to viticulture, with the aim of preserving the land for future generations.
In the winery, the Josep Foraster Les Gallinetes grapes macerate and ferment in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 5 months in French oak barrels. Finally it is bottled with a label drawn by people from the APRODISCA occupational health service. A very endearing design that reminds people of the objective of this “caring project.”
