Scala Dei is the oldest winery of Priorat. It was established by the Carthusian monks in 1163, and until this day it still preserves the same spirit for handcrafted work. The wines of Scala Dei capture the essence of the rough landscape, the intense climate and the old vines. The result is wines with an authentic expression of the “terroir”. The entrance of the group Codorníu Raventós in the company in the middle of 2000, has allowed them to expand and modernize the facilities, and turn the business objective towards the consolidation of red wines. This has led specialized press and competitions to praise them and acknowledge them in recent years.
