Recanati Yasmin Red is a young, Kosher certified red wine made by Recanati with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah varieties in Galilee (Israel).
Lenny Recanati, an Israeli with Italian roots, made his dream come true in 2000 when he built a state-of-the-art winery in Upper Galilee. He has now achieved his goal of producing a quality wine suitable for the Jewish community and that reflects the character of the Israeli terroir.
Recanati Yasmin Red comes from sun-drenched Mediterranean vineyards. These are vines of three international noble varieties that are perfectly suited to the Israeli terroir. They are cultivated using conventional agriculture and the strain yield is limited to achieve greater concentration. Once the grape reaches optimum ripeness, it is harvested manually, and the fruit is selected in the vineyard itself.
Following Kosher certification rules, the Recanati Yasmin Red grapes ferment at a controlled temperature for 6 to 10 days. A short maceration produces soft tannins. Then it ages in oak barrels for a short time to give light oak fragrances.
The Recanati Yasmin Red was made with the aim of producing a wine that expresses the local terroir. A refined blend of international varieties that grow perfectly in Galilee’s Mediterranean climate. This is, without doubt, a very good introduction to Israeli wines.
