About Pizzolato M-use Violette Spumante rosato Glera i Raboso
In 1981 Settimo Pizzolato took over the family business. Behind him was the weight of five generations of family tradition dedicated to cattle breeding and the cultivation of vines and fruit (specifically kiwifruit, peaches and strawberries), which he wanted to honour in the best possible way: by increasing the biological value of the company. This is how two years later, in 1991, Pizzolato Settimo & Gino was born, a winery in Treviso, in northern Italy (in the province of Veneto), where they began experimenting with alternative methods to traditional chemical products. “Working well today means leaving a significant gift,” Settimo assures.
He meant what he said, and this winery has more than proved it by using this way of thinking in all production processes: from the vineyard, to the winery (with 570 solar panels to make their own energy), a biological treatment plant (to reduce waste) and bottles with a beautiful design that can be given a second life. This last idea gave rise to M-Use, a line of sparkling wines, with a very careful and special design, made under the 3-R rule: reuse, reduce and recycle. So, any M-Use bottle, made of elegant cut glass, can have a second life after the last drop of wine has gone. One of the wines in this range is Pizzolato M-use Violette Spumante rosato Glera i Raboso, a sparkling rosé coupage of Glera and Raboso, two varieties that are typical of the area and have a marked acidity.
Veneto is covered by a total of 94,600 hectares of vineyards, making it the third largest Italian wine-growing region that extends over calcareous soils, covered with reddish-brown earth. The Alps to the north protect it from the cold northern currents, while the Adriatic Sea coast has milder temperatures.
Following the harvest, in mid-September, the Pizzolato M-use Violette Spumante rosato Glera i Raboso clusters are pressed and the must is made (which is left to settle for some time before being placed in stainless steel tanks for fermentation). After adding selected yeasts, the transformation process, always at a controlled temperature, begins. Once the base wine has been made, Pizzolato M-use Violette Spumante rosato Glera i Raboso will undergo a second fermentation in an autoclave (this is the main difference between this sparkling wine and those produced in the A.O.C. Champagne), until it is finally bottled and released for sale.
When the bottle is finished (which we can assure you it will be), Pizzolato M-use Violette Spumante rosato Glera i Raboso can be used as a water bottle, vase or even a lamp. You just have to let your imagination run wild...; and if at first you don't feel creative, just a short amount of time with this sparkling wine will be sure to help the creative juices start to flow and inspiration to come.
