Motor Callet

Motor Callet is a red wine made by the 4 Kilos winery in Felanitx, V.T. Mallorca.

In 2006 Francesc Grimalt and Sergi Caballero founded the 4 Kilos winery. 4 Kilos is the colloquial way of saying 4 million pesetas, which was the initial investment made by Francesc and Sergi to launch the winery.

4 Kilos produces its wines in Felanitx, in the heart of the island of Mallorca. Here the climate is mild Mediterranean, with dry and warm summers and very little rainfall. They practice a rational agriculture that is highly environmentally-friendly, and with a minimum of intervention. They use the native vegetation cover, with a large microbiological population aimed at ensuring a good biodiversity in the vineyard.

With these conditions and Francesc’s extensive knowledge of the native varieties, they produce wines that have character and are highly authentic.
 

Motor Callet is a red wine made with a Callet of young vineyards with ecological certification, located in clay loam soils containing ferric oxide, known as "Call Vermell".

After the manual harvest with grapes selected in the vineyard itself, it is fermented in cubs (brick and concrete vats that are traditional in the area). Here it is aged for about 3 months. It contains no added sulphites.
