12 Volts is a red wine from Mallorca prepared by 4 kilos. This winery is located in the city of Felanixt, southeast of the island of Mallorca.
12 Volts is made from native varieties of Mallorca Callet and Fogoneu (60%) and Syrah (20%), Cabernet (10%) and Merlot (10%).
The grapes come from vineyards that are grown following a rational and minimal interventionist method of winemaking.
As for processing, all the grapes are harvested manually. Once in the winery maceration and fermentation are carried out in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature early in the process of 20 degrees, increasing to 28 degrees at the end of the process. The maceration lasts20 days.
Subsequently malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The last step is aging 12 Volts for 9 months in foudres of 3000 litres and 2nd year and 3rd year French oak barrels of 225 litres.
According to its creators, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero, 12 volts is a red wine that connects with the nervous system and recharges your batteries. Still not tried it? Not only are you missing this energy infusion, 12 volts is also packed with life! A release of a good Balearic vibe where the Mallorcan varieties Callet and Fogoneu are used with the foreign Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties, producing a smooth and fruity wine with a long and pleasant finish.
The unique design of the label is remarkable, and is one of the hallmarks of the winery. The label 12 Volts, in this case, is designed by Gary Baseman, a famous contemporary artist.
In Mallorca, in 2006, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero created 4Kilos Vinícola (the name comes from the initial investment made by its two partners in pesetas: 4 million pesetas). This winery produces wines that reflect the strength of the grape and its nuances, but with a different approach and presentation. The labeling is spectacular, unique and different.
