About Mauro Godello
Mauro Godello is a white wine produced by Bodegas Mauro in Tudela de Duero, V.T. Castilla y León.
Bodegas Mauro is the personal project of oenologist Mariano García, known for his position as a technical manager at Vega Sicilia for 30 years, co-founder of Aalto and producer of red wines of outstanding quality in Tudela de Duero (Valladolid).
A specialist in the production of great red wines, in 2013 he decided to make this exceptional white wine for the first time. One of the best Godello we can find on the market.
Mauro Godello is made from Godello grapes from plots located in Villafranca del Bierzo, at 700 metres of altitude, on a variety of soils: poor, sandy, with boulders and decomposed slate. The vine training system used is the espalier double cordon.
After being manually harvested, grapes are refrigerated and selected. Before fermentation, they undergo skin-contact maceration process for 12 hours at 8ºC. Once the grape is destemmed and crushed, it is pressed and then settled through a static process. Fermentation is carried out at a low temperature in 500-litre new and used barrels. Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels.

2022 | Mauro Godello 2022 is a white wine with aromas of yellow fruits accompanied by floral notes, smoke and spices. On the palate, it is well-defined and mineral. A savoury quince note appears wrapped in an elegant purity. A dry, long and flavoursome white wine with aromatic complexity, tension and delicious minerality. |
|
2020 | Mauro Godello 2020 is a mature white wine exuding scents of white fruit, mineral undertones, and hints of citrus. On the palate, it is unctuous, enveloping, and harmonious. This wine is distinguished by its luminous acidity, graceful progression, and pronounced salinity. |
|
2018 | Mauro Godello 2018 is a balanced wine, with volume and freshness. The ripe stone fruit aromas and its minerality stand out. An excellent white wine. |
