K-Naia is a white wine from Rueda produced by Bodega Naia. This winery is located in the town of La Seca (Valladolid) an area considered one of the best in Rueda, especially distinguished for the production of wine due to the exceptional qualities of its terroir.
K-Naia is made with Verdejo (85%) and Sauvignon Blanc (15%). The grapes come from old vines planted at an altitude of between 700 and 800m in altitude.
Given their altitude, vineyards are exposed a continental climate, with large temperature fluctuations between day and night and variations of up to 50 degrees between winter and summer. Rainfall is moderate, the annual rainfall is usually not register more than 500 litres. Climatic conditions favour the natural resistance of the strains and balance between alcohol and acidity in the grapes.
For the preparation of K-Naia, grapes are selected on the table and immediately subjected to a heat treatment in a cold chamber, in order to absorb the maximum pulp and polyphenolic compounds from the skin.
Subsequently, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and once finished, the wine is left to stand on its lees.
