Domaine de la Pinte Vin Jaune is a biodynamic, barrel-aged white wine made by Domaine de la Pinte with the Savagnin variety in the AOC Arbois denomination, in Jura (France).
Domaine de la Pinte was founded in 1953 by Roger Marin. It is a family winery in the heart of Arbois, in the French region of Jura. His son Pierre Martin is now carrying the legacy and has expanded the winery to 34 hectares. Their trademark is wine with plenty of typicity made according to biodynamic principles.
Domaine de la Pinte Vin Jaune comes from vines planted in blue marl soils, 400 metres above sea level. These strains are cultivated using ecological and biodynamic practices and respecting the natural environment of the terroir. The yield per hectare is very low at about 20 hectolitres and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
The Domaine de la Pinte Vin Jaune grapes are pressed directly and the must is fermented with native yeasts below 20ºC. Then malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously. It is then left to age for 6 years and 3 months under a yeast cap in 228-litre French oak barrels. Finally, a it is lightly filtered using silica before bottling.
Domaine de la Pinte Vin Jaune is a complex, powerful and very elegant wine. A white Jura made under a yeast cap with an impressive aromatic persistence.
