Delamotte Brut is a champagne made by the Delamotte winery in Le Mesnil Sur Oger, A.O.C. Champagne.
Maison Delamotte, founded by François Delamotte in 1760, is the sixth oldest in Champagne. They currently own 5 hectares in the prestigious Grand Cru of Le Mesnil Sur Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, and the remaining grapes come from independent winemakers with 100% Gran Cru vineyards, who have been working for the winery for decades.
In 1988 the winery joined Champagne Salon and became part of the Laurent Perrier group, while keeping all its prestige intact, something that was achieved largely due to its Blanc de Blancs made with one of the best Chardonnays.
Delamotte Brut is a champagne made with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes from old vineyards that are all Gran Cru, in the Champagne-Ardenne region.
The grapes are harvested by hand and fermentation is carried out with local yeasts in stainless steel vats. Aging lasts a minimum of 30 months in the bottle with the lees of the second fermentation.
