About Clos des Vignes du Maynes Megamix

A megamix (combining “Mega”, one million, and “Mix”) is a piece of music made by putting several tracks together. This is what a DJ does. A work where technique and sensitivity have to go together if there results are going to be good. With this same work philosophy, Julien Guillot produces Clos des Vignes du Maynes Megamix, a coupage of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Chardonnay that, both for its dynamism and image, is a pleasant surprise for a younger audience. If there is one thing this new generation winemaker is achieving in his cult winery Clos des Vignes du Mayne, it is reviving the Mâconnais region, in the south of the Burgundy wine region (France) with the sole objective of producing cheerful wines for everyone.

Having run the family estate since 2001, Julien had the good fortune of inheriting terroirs in the small village of Cruzille, where his grandfather, the founder, and his father, the next in line, never used chemical products. Caring for nature has always been a family tradition. Thanks to this completely organic work over the years, it has been possible to produce pure fruit of exceptional quality and to carry out minimal intervention winemaking with guaranteed success. A semi-carbonic maceration with native yeasts is carried out in the winery and then the wine is aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is then bottled without clarifying or filtering and only adding minimal sulphites.

That makes Clos des Vignes du Maynes Megamix a blend of sensitivity and expertise. A pure fruit cuvée that invites you to enjoy a Mâconnais with a renewed image and style. The perfect ingredient for a fun evening.

Clos des Vignes du Maynes Megamix 2018 is a smooth red wine with aromas of red fruits, floral notes and herbal touches. The palate is young, fresh and light. A wine with lots of fruit, good acidity and a fairly persistent finish. A summer wine that will leave you wanting more.
