About Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé
Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé is a champagne produced by the Bollingerwinery, in Ay, in the heart of the Champagne region.
Since its foundation in 1829 in Montagne de Reims, Maison Bollinger continues to make and age its champagnes as it always has, succeeding in stamping the famous Bollinger identity seal, synonymous with quality and prestige, year after year.
Bollingerhas174 hectares of its own vineyards available to produce most of its wines. 85% of these vineyards are classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru, with two outstanding plots with pre-phylloxera vines, Clos Saint-Jacques and Chaudes Terres.
One of Bollinger’smost appreciated and unique features is its reserve wines, bottled and aged in a corked magnum and classified by vintages, thus forming one of the largest reserves of this type of wine in the area.
Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé is a pink champagne made with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and coming from vineyards that are 92% Grands Crus and the rest Premiers Crus. The soils are clayey-sandy, with the presence of limestone.
The grapes are harvested at the optimum moment of ripeness using an exhaustive selection process, and are then fermented exclusively in oak barrels for over 5 years. The wine is aged in corked bottles for at least 6 years, twice the amount required by the conseil des appellations. Once disgorged, it is left to stand for a minimum of 3 months before being put on the market.
Bollinger La Grande Année Rosé is a delicate, complex and distinguished champagne. With its intoxicating nose, it stands out for its elegant aromas of fresh red fruit assembled between notes of pastry and light toasted touches of ageing. It has a silky texture, and is fluid on the palate, with a fine bubble and a captivating finish.
This sparkling wine is only put on the market in those vintages in which the quality of the grapes is exceptional.
