The winery is located at the heart of La Rioja Alta. The climate in this area is moderately continental with a Cantabrian influence, characterized by a significant change in temperature between night and day.
This wine is a blend of Tempranillo , Mazuelo and Graciano grapes which originate from old vineyards located between 380 and 500 metres above sea level. These vineyards are planted in loose soils containing clay, limestone and iron. With regards to ripening, this wine spends a minimum of 20 months in mixed barrels of French and American oak. Subsequently, it remains in the bottle for 18 months before reaching the market.
On the palate, this wine is both sweet, fleshy and fruity. Cherry and strawberry notes appear alongside those of liquorice. There is a balanced acidity and silky tannins. The taste comes across as both long and elegant.
To the nose, it shows complexity. There are essences of cloves and cinnamon, together with notes of candied fruit and a base of dark chocolate.
