Characteristics Beronia Ecológico
Beronia Ecológico is an organic red wine produced by the Beronia winery in the D.O.Ca. Rioja with the Tempranillo variety.
The Beronia winery was founded in 1973 in the town of Ollauri, in the Rioja Alta sub-region by a group of business friends who loved wine. The name of the winery is a tribute to the Berones, a Celtic tribe who lived in Rioja during the 3rd century BC. Although it now belongs to the González Byass group, Beronia continues to make wines in their own unique style. Their style is characterised by the long aging process of their red wines (95% of production).
Beronia Ecológico comes from vines with an average age of 30 years old. They are planted in clay-limestone soils with production limited to a maximum of 6,500 kilograms per hectare. They use sustainable agriculture, without using pesticides or synthetic chemicals.
Once harvested, the Beronia Ecológico grape undergoes a cold pre-fermentation maceration. It then ferments at a temperature of less than 26ºC with periodic pump overs and then ages in French and American oak barrels for 6 months. Finally, it rests in the bottle for 4 months before leaving the winery.
Beronia Ecológico is a wine that is made using winemaking methods that respect the environment. An ecological red with body and volume.

Beronia
Beronia was founded in 1973 by a small Gipuzkoan gastronomic society to produce wines only for its own consumption. Nowadays, it belongs to the group of wineries of González Byass, and is one of the Spanish wineries of reference both at a national and international level. Their search for excellence is present throughout the process of producing its wines, which is carried out in the purest and traditional Riojan style, with its own personality, but also leaving the imprint of its renowned "Beronia style". Several and continuous awards and recognitions endorse the quality of their wines.
