Beronia Crianza is a red wine from D.O. Rioja produced by Bodegas Beronia.
This winery belongs to the group González Byass and is located in the municipality of Ollauri, in the heart of La Rioja Alta.
With its name, Bodegas Beronia pays a tribute to the ancient past of the lands of Rioja and its first known settlers, the Berones, Celtic warrior people who inhabited these lands during the 3rd century B.C.
Beronia Crianza belongs to the range of classic wines of the winery. It is made mainly from the variety Tempranillo and small percentages of the varieties Grenache and Mazuelo.
The grapes come from 20 hectares of their own vineyards, which surround the winery. The soils where the vineyards are planted are predominantly clayey-calcareous.
In its production, a slow fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature, with periodic pump overs that enhance the extraction of the colour and the aromas.
After the fermentation, the wine spends 12 months in deposits and another 12 months in mixed barrels with American oak staves and French oak bottoms.
Finally, before it is launched on the market, Beronia Crianza rests in the bottle for 3 more months to finish its refining.
