Viña Zorzal Garnacha 2022 is a very aromatic red wine with red fruit aromas accompanied by liquorice notes, spicy and earthy nuances and a touch of beeswax. The palate is juicy, with smooth tannins, good grip and tension. There are some noticeable notes of chalk, but the red fruit flavour stands out. A very pleasant red wine to drink and one that stands out for its purity.

Characteristics Viña Zorzal Garnacha

Viña Zorzal Garnacha is a red wine from the D.O. Navarre produced by the Bodegas Zorzal winery in Corella, Navarre. It was founded in 1989 with the aim of rescuing the area’s indigenous varieties, and with the philosophy that wine originates in the vineyard.

They currently own 40 hectares located near the municipality of Fitero, where the gentle topography creates a small oasis between all the vineyards on the lower bank of the Ebro river, giving them an extra freshness. 25 of these hectares are planted with Grenache. The rest are planted with Graciano and Tempranillo, with white varieties like the White Grenache.

The Garnacha vineyard is 60 years old and originates from a fitero at an altitude of at 490 meters. It is harvested by hand and transported to the winery in small boxes.

In the winery a selection of the grapes is made and inserted into stainless steel vats where it undergoes alcoholic fermentation.

Viña Zorzal Garnacha is a red wine to enjoy for its typically varietal fruity and fresh character.

Tasting notes Viña Zorzal Garnacha

Viña Zorzal Garnacha 2020 is a juicy red wine with an intense nose of red fruit, spiced notes and a base of wet earth. On the palate it’s fresh, dry and enveloping. A medium-bodied wine with a very fruity palate and a long, subtly mineral finish.

Viña Zorzal Garnacha 2017 is a fresh, young and fruity red wine. This vintage highlights the aromas of fresh red fruit with light spicy notes and a very subtle citrus touch. On the palate it is refreshing, with good volume and a lingering and rather dry finish.
