Cepa Gavilán Crianza 2022 is a red wine distinguished by its concentrated character. On the nose, it offers intense notes of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and spices derived from its time in oak barrels. On the palate, it presents a balanced structure and smooth tannins, providing a pleasing persistence. About Viña Pedrosa Cepa Gavilán Crianza

According to the regulations of the D.O. Ribera del Duero, a crianza red wine must undergo a minimum ageing period of 24 months, of which half must be spent in oak barrels of less than 330 litres. This standard, which already ensures a high quality, serves as the starting point at Hermanos Pérez Pascuas winery, where the youngest and freshest red wine produced is Cepa Gavilán Crianza. 
 
Straight from the D.O. Ribera del Duero, specifically from the municipality of Pedrosa de Duero (in Burgos), comes this single-varietal Tempranillo, cultivated at an altitude of 840 metres. These plots, which extend over 135 hectares, are populated with young vines, aged between 10 and 15 years, thriving on clay soils. This youthful character, combined with the altitude of the vineyards, ensures that even the dry, hot summers typical of this central Spanish region do not diminish the fresh and juicy character that makes this wine so unique and special. 
 
Cepa Gavilán Crianza is hand-harvested and transferred to stainless steel tanks where it ferments. Finally, Cepa Gavilán Crianza is racked and the wine is moved to French and American oak barrels where it will spend twelve months. It is then bottled and in the darkness of the cellar, Cepa Gavilán Crianza will rest for another year, until it is finally perfect for consumption.

Cepa Gavilán Crianza 2017 is an elegantly structured red wine, exuding ripe fruit aromas with balsamic undertones, roasted nuances, and a hint of spice, complemented by mineral accents. On the palate, it is flavorful, full-bodied, and bursting with fruity essence. This wine is characterized by velvety tannins and seamlessly integrated acidity. The finish is prolonged and delicately tinged with a whisper of mint.
