Characteristics Viña Cubillo

Viña Cubillo is a red wine from the winery López de Heredia in the D.O La Rioja. This is the oldest winery in the city of Haro (La Rioja Alta) and one the first 3 wineries in La Rioja.

Viña Cubillo is a blend of classic varietals from Rioja: Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Mazuela and Graciano.

For the production of Viña Cubillo this is a traditional winemaking process. The wine is aged for 3 years, with 2 annual racking processes. The wine is clarified with egg whites before being bottled unfiltered.

A Large storage capacity, up to approximately 10 years. A classic Riojan wine with a very good quality to price ratio.

Tasting notes Viña Cubillo

A pleasant and fresh opening on the palate. Passing is fine and fruity, sensations of red fruit. Long and persistent finish.



Attractive bright red ruby, very expressive.


Fruity and fresh with a presence of ripened red fruit aromas combined with spicy and liquorice notes.
 In the mouth, it is a fine, fresh and persistent wine.

In the nose, it is a fresh wine with a slight aroma of liquorice. Persistent aroma.
Soft and light red wine from La Rioja with a nice mid palate, with well balanced fruit and toasted aromas. Its good acidity provides it with a nice freshness. It has a good but not very persistent finish. A pleasant and easy-drinking wine, typical from Rioja.

Intense dark cherry colour with ruby red edges. Bright wine with good tears.

The persistence of ripe black fruit aromas stands out along with notes of tobacco and liquorice and toasted hints that become more intense as the wine opens up. In the background, light spicy and elegant leather notes are felt.
Refined, fresh and persistent. This wine is delicious, friendly and with a long finish.

Viña Tondonia is many of those things, besides being a winery that has been run by the same family since its origins. Through four generations and despite the continuous and tempting offers of multinationals, for a hundred years, R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia is still a single-family winery. Here, the four generations that have directed it have continued with the philosophy and the social and work principles set by its founder more than 139 years ago.
