About Vilarnau Brut Nature Vintage
Vilarnau Brut Nature Vintage is a cava Reserva Brut Nature from the D.O Cava produced by the winery Vilarnau. This cava is a blend of 3 grape varieties: Macabeo (55%), Parellada (30%) and Chardonnay (15%).
The Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes used are grown in Espiells, situated at 250 metres above sea level, and are grown on vines that are around 25 years old. The Parellada grapes, however, come from estates situated in the town of Llacuna, located at an altitude of 700 metres.
The different grape varieties undergo the vinification process seperately and are not blended until moments before the ‘tiraje’. The procceses carried out to produce Vilarnau Brut Nature Vintage follow conventional methods.
Vilarnau Brut Nature Vintage then ages for 30 months in the bottle on its lees. Then it is finally disgorged. No additives are added to the cava.
Vilarnau is a small family winery situated in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia with more than 50 years of history behind it. Currently it is part of the Gonzalez Byass group. All of their products which spain over 50 hectares.
