About Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Liebedich
Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Liebedich is a white wine made with the Grüner Veltliner variety in Wachau by the Veyder-Malberg winery.
As a vine grower, Peter Veyder-Malberg is known as a great champion of wines made with biodynamic techniques in Spitz, northern Austria. The Wachau Valley is a natural treasure with the River Danube running through it, and in 2007, he bought vineyards on steep slate terraces to make his own wines in an artisanal way to preserve the landscape that is so typical of the area. The result is a great variety of extremely pure wines, with a low alcohol content and great natural purity.
All the work in the vineyard is manual and sustainable. Since tractors cannot access the land, the manual work is tough and intense. It is all artisanal work that helps to preserve the landscape and, at the same time, helps the 30 to 60 year old strains planted on steep slate slopes to give a unique character to the Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Liebedich.
When the grapes have been harvested, they macerate for up to 24 hours and are lightly pressed for 6-8 hours. Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Liebedich fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts in a mixture of stainless steel and old barrels. It ages on lees for 5 months in stainless steel and, when the wine is ready, it is refined and lightly filtered before bottling.
Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Liebedich is a white wine that represents a return to the origins of bottling the full natural splendour of one of the most impressive winemaking areas.

2018 | Veyder-Malberg Grüner Veltliner Liebedich 2018 is a creamy white wine that has aromas of pear and green apple, melon with notes of white pepper and touches of white chocolate on the nose. On the palate it is very juicy and well-balanced. |
