About Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial

Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial is a red wine from the D.O Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas y Viñedos Vega Sicilia. This wine is a blend of different vintages. The finest vintages of Vega Sicilia Único come together to produce this iconic wine.

In each of these vintages, the harvest of grapes from the varieties tinto fino and cabernet sauvignon is carried out after a meticulous grain selection process. The grapes are then transported to the winery in small boxes, this is to ensure that they do not break nor lose the freshness that characterises them.

At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and then macerate at a controlled temperature. The must of Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial obtained then undergoes the first fermentation in various wood and stainless steel containers. Following this, it is aged for 2 years in large wooden tanks that have large capacities.

Ultimately, the blending of the three vintages takes place, and Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial rests for at least 18 months in new barrels and another 30 months in used barrels..
