About Tianna Bocchoris Blanc
Tianna Bocchoris Blanc is a white wine produced by the winery Celler Tianna Negre in the municipality of Binissalem, VT Mallorca.
Celler Tianna Negre is the project of the family Morey-Garau, and the company Antonio Nadal, S.A. (Bodegas Túnel), which is born from the idea of building a winery to produce their own wines. At first they made their first wine in the garage of a friend who was a winemaker. It was in 2007 when they opened their own winery, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, enabling them to take care of the grapes in the entire production process, at the same time as they paid utmost respect for the environment.
The Morey-Garay family is originally from the municipality of Consell, a neighbouring village of Binissalem, with a great winemaking tradition. This is where they first vineyard, with more than 35 years of age, was located. Currently, the winery has 35 hectares of vineyards distributed throughout the region of Raiguer. The vineyards are planted on soils with predominant Call Vermell, a calcareous soil with a clayey texture, rich in iron, which gives it its characteristic red colour. The climate of the area is typically Mediterranean, with very mild summers and moderately cold winters.
Tianna Bocchoris Blanc is a wine made from Premsal Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Giró Ros from their own vineyards.
The grapes are manually harvested and placed in boxes. Then, they are selected in the vineyards. Once they arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and they go through a pre-fermentation maceration with their skins at a low temperature. After a soft pressing, the must is poured into isothermal deposits where it goes through a static settling process at a controlled temperature. Once the must is clean, the fermentation starts in stainless steel deposits at a temperature that ranges between 13ºC and 15ºC. Mid-fermentation, the Sauvignon Blanc and the Giró Ros are transferred to new French oak barrels to finish fermenting and then go on to an ageing of 2 months. After these 2 months, the final coupage is carried out and the wine is bottled.
2019 | Tianna Bocchoris Blanc 2019 is a silky, extremely lingering wine with volume. It stands out for its unctuousness and aromatic potential, where aromas of ripe white fruit are mixed with the toasted notes of the ageing process. |
