About Resalte Vendimia Seleccionada

Resalte Vendimia Seleccionada is a red wine from the DO Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Resalte de Peñafiel. The winery is situated in Peñafiel (Valladolid), in proximity to renowned wine-producing areas such as Vega Sicilia and Pago de Carraovejas.

Resalte Vendimia Seleccionada is a single-variety tempranillo. The grapes are sourced from young vineyards aged between 15 and 20 years, planted at nearly 1,000m altitude, in the plateau, the highest area of Ribera del Duero. The soil in this region is limestone-based, and the climate is marked by thermal contrasts between the hot days and the very cold nights. The vineyard yield is quite low, with productions never exceeding 4,500kg per hectare.

In the production of Resalte Vendimia Seleccionada, the grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. They are then transferred to vats, initiating an alcoholic fermentation at a low and controlled temperature followed by a maceration lasting between 18 and 20 days. Upon completion of vinification, the wine undergoes aging for 10 to 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.
