About Perelada 5 Finques

Perelada 5 Finques is a red wine produced by Perelada in the D.O. Empordà in Catalonia, Spain.

Wine was already being produced at Castillo de Perelada in the Middle Ages. And one of Miquel Mateu’s objectives when he bought this monumental complex in 1923 was to revive these winemaking practices, a tradition that is now more alive than ever.

Perelada 5 Finques is made by the expert hand of Delfí Sanahuja, a renowned winemaker who has managed to take advantage of the extraordinary diversity of the Empordà soils to create high quality wines. With Perelada 5 Finques you get the maximum expression of the different microclimates, soils and varieties of five estates with different geological conditions. Pont de Molins, with sandy and silty soils, Garriga, with gravel soils, Malaveïna, with mostly red clay soils, Espolla, with soils composed of black slate and Garbet, the gem of Perelada, a terraced estate with slate soils on mountainous terrain and extraordinary views of the Mediterranean Sea.

A delicious blend of varieties and terroirs, aged in French and American oak barrels, which varies according to the vintage, make Perelada 5 Finques a fresh and fruity wine that is well structured and full of Mediterranean character.
