About Marqués de Griñon Petit Verdot

Marqués de Griñon Petit Verdot is a red wine produced by the Marqués de Griñón winery in Valdepusa, a DO assigned only to the plots of this winery.

Marqués de Griñón and their plots are in the town of Malpica de Tajo (Toledo).

Marqués de Griñon Petit Verdot is 100% produced from Petit Verdot, a native variety of Bordeaux. The grapes come from vineyards grown in clay-limestone soils at an average altitude of 490m above the sea.

The climate of the region is continental, with an average temperature of 17ºC and average rainfall of 450mm.

For a processing, a stripping and discharge by gravity into the fermentation tanks is performed. Once the fermentation process is complete, there is a prolonged maceration lasting between 4 to 5 weeks.

Finally the wine goes through aging in new French oak barrels from Allier for 12 -15 months, in a heated vessel.

2011 Fresh input, meaty and brisk. Very fruity and sweet. Good acidity and integrated tannins. Long finish with something minty.

Intense red, violet reflections. Clean and bright.

Medium-high intensity. Aromas of ripe fruit with floral notes and toast. Spicy background.
2007 Broad, bulky, fleshy and balanced attack. Magnificent acidity and polished, well-integrated tannins. Long and persistent finish. A special red wine.

Pretty ruby red colour with violet tone. Clean and very bright.

Highly intense and fragrant nose. Spices, herbs and flowers and some pleasant aromas of ripe red fruit and black forest fruits.
