About Manyetes
Manyetes is a red wine from the D.O Priorat produced by the winery Clos Mogador. This wine is a monovarietal of the grape Cariñena.
The grape which creates Manyetes originates from 10 hectares of land, possessing the same name as the wine. It is located in the Vila de Gratallops, a subzone of the D.O Priorat recognised by the Regulatory Council.
The soils are especially poor, with a very dry and sunny climate. The vineyards are south facing with slate soils (Llicorella).
Manyetes grows on very old vines, 80 years old. After the harvest, the grapes are transported quickly to the winery, where the grapes are made in to wine.
The production is performed following a traditional method, but not for one second does this mean that they lose the respect for the natural environment.
Manyetes is finally aged in 2,300 litre oak barrels, the wood is selected from the best European forests.
Given the exclusiveness of Manyetes' characteristics, it is very limited. Only 5,000 bottles are sold per vintage.
Clos Mogador is a project directed by René Barbier. The winery has a range of excellent quality wines, always found at the top of leader boards in international wine guides.
René Barbier was one of the main figures involved in revolutionising the Priorat region in the 1980's. Thanks to his work, a new drive was given to the D.O Priorat and now, this is one of the leading wine producing regions in Spain.

Manyetes 2021 is a red wine that captivates with its finesse and intricacy. This vintage boasts a lower alcohol content than any of its predecessors. On the nose, it unfurls mature black fruit aromas intertwined with invigorating hints reminiscent of tomato foliage. Subtle undertones of blood, iron, and earth also emerge. Upon tasting, it reveals a robust and harmonious structure, yet remains approachable; with seamlessly integrated oak, abundant fruit, and vivacity. A silky and sophisticated red wine.

2016 | Manyetes 2016 is a powerful, complex and structured red wine. This vintage once again displays the character of the variety with a great deal of personality. An intense nose, with aromas of ripe red fruit, and with toasted notes and minerals quite present. On the palate it is full, expressive and very lingering. | |
2011 | Potent and flavoursome. Sweet tannins with a long finish. Deep cherry red with a touch of garnet red. Elegant and expressive. Combines lactic notes with sweet spices. |
|
2006 | Elegant, tasty, friendly and very wide wine, full of nuances and with a pure reflection of the region of Priorat.
It shows a wide and warm attack, in which this wine coats the mouth with sweety sensations and hints of liquors. It has a long mid palate with a silky and unctuous texture. Its notes of fleshy fruit are wrapped in elegant wooden aromas on a strong mineral background. Very ripe tannins and excellent acidity. Well balanced full-bodied wine with a very good structure. Very long and very persistent finish. Very vivid and dark intense cherry colour. Thin purple edges. High robe. Abundant dense tears. Complex, concentrated and intense aromas. The notes of liquorice ripe red and black fruit appear on its deep balsamic and outstanding mineral background, mixed with spicy nuances (liquorice, cinnamon), sober toasted hints and herbs with a light touch of black olives and a subtle touch of violets. |
|
2004 | In the mouth, it is powerful and tasty. Intense cherry red colour. Very concentrated and mineral with powerful fruity aromas. |
