Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier is a biodynamic extra brut Champagne made with the Pinot Meunier variety in Champagne by Laherte Frères.
Laherte Frères is a small family Champagne house founded in 1889 that is known for making sparkling wines with the typical characteristics of the area south of Epernay. Brothers Thierry and Christian Laherte continue to work in a total of 75 small plots using organic and biodynamic practices.
Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier comes from a selection of several plots in Côteaux sud d’Epernay. These are old strains aged between 25 and 50 years old that are planted in deep clay-calcareous soils and treated with biodynamic practices. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier is the result of a combination of different winemaking methods. 60% white wine, 30% of the grapes macerated with the skins and 10% red wine. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with native yeasts, it ages on lees for 6 months with a low 2.5 gr/l dosage added. It ages for 2 years.
Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier is a very special Rosé champagne that reveals the many facets of the Meunier variety. The result is a fresh, complex and very aromatic sparkling wine.
