La Hormiga de Antídoto is a red wine made in D.O. Ribera del Duero by Bodegas Antídoto, in San Esteban de Gormaz, Soria.
Bodegas Antídoto was created by Bertrand Sourdais and David Hernando. Bertrand Sourdais was one of the founders of Dominio de Atauta. His career has been forged in large wineries, such as álvaro Palacios or Château Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux.
The old vineyards of the winery are located in one of the coolest areas of Ribera de Duero, at an altitude of 1000 metres, in the province of Soria. These vineyards are cultivated organically.
La Hormiga de Antídoto is a wine made with Tinta del País from vineyards located next to the site Paraje del Hoyo. They were planted in 1922 at 950 metres of altitude, on sandy and clayey-calcareous soils.
After a manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed before fermenting in stainless steel deposits with native yeasts. Once the fermentation has ended, the wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels (Darnajou and Taransaud), 50% new and the rest of first or second use.
