After years of studying the soils of DO Rueda and analysing the behaviour of each plot, bodegas José Pariente took a further step in their interpretation of the vineyard and the verdejo with José Pariente Finca la Medina, a wine that demonstrates to what extent a single estate can express its own unique personality.
 
This single-varietal verdejo comes from a solitary old vineyard located in Hornillos de Eresma, where vines nearly a century old thrive on sandy soils. These conditions, combined with naturally low yields, enable the production of grapes with remarkable precision and delicacy, capable of showcasing a more elegant, subtle, and mineral version of the variety.
 
In the winery, the production of José Pariente Finca la Medina seeks to respect this identity to the fullest. Fermentation and subsequent ageing on lees are carried out over several months in egg-shaped concrete tanks, a vessel that promotes the natural circulation of the lees and allows for a slow evolution, preserving freshness and imparting a silky texture without obscuring the vineyard's purity. The result is a complex, profound, and extraordinarily balanced white wine, where minerality and finesse set the pace from start to finish.

Olfactorily, it is quite nuanced and sophisticated, exhibiting citrus undertones, herbaceous whispers, white fruit, delicate floral essences, and a hint of lees.
