J.J. Confuron Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaboeufs 2023 is a red wine that reveals its Premier Cru soul and the steadfast pulse of Burgundian elegance. Dried rose, liquorice, and ripe black fruit compose a deep and evocative bouquet, where hints of macerated plum and a whisper of earthy truffle and fine leather also emerge. On the palate, it is vigorous, enveloping, with firm and noble tannins that invite a pause. About J.J. Confuron Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaboeufs

J.J. Confuron Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaboeufs is a single-variety Pinot Noir red wine made by Domaine J.J. Confuron in Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France.

The grapes used to make J.J. Confuron Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaboeufs come from a small vineyard with an area of barely half a hectare and with stony and limestone soils.

When the clusters reach the winery, they are selected before destemming and then go through a pre-fermentation maceration that lasts four to six days to extract colour and velvety tannins. A gentle heating brings about fermentation, which lasts for around 12 days at 30ºC, with three cap plunges per day.

The resulting 1er Cru wine ages in oak barrels, 70% of which are new, and is bottled without refining or filtering and with only minimal added sulphites.

The Domaine J.J. Confuron has years of history and winemaking tradition behind it. Currently, Sophie and Alain Meunier work their eight hectares of vineyards spread across fourteen different denominations, making wines that combine tradition with modernity.
