Herenza Kosher is a red wine from D.O. La Rioja produced by the Elvi Wines winery. This is a single-variety wine made with Tempranillo grapes, like many of the wines for come from this region.
The grapes used for this wine come from a single vineyard. After the harvest has been carried out manually, the grapes used for Herenza Kosher are destemmed and pressed, before being decanted into the 15,000 litre capacity tanks for production. Fermentation is then carried out at a maximum temperature 25ºC. The wine is then taken from the cask after 14 days of maceration, discarding the wine from the press. Herenza Kosher is then finally aged for 7 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels for 7 months.
The Elvi Wines winery sets the benchmark when it comes for Kosher Wine in Spain. The winery currently collaborates with many other wineries across various winemaking regions in Spain to produce their products.
