Habla del Silencio Magnum 2021
VT Extremadura
(Estremadura)
Habla la Tierra is a red wine from Extremadura, produced by the Habla winery. This wine is an equal blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grapes.
The grapes used to make this wine come from 68 different plots. The vines are still relatively young, at about 15 years in age. The soil is made up of slate, which is less fertile and moist.
The harvest is carried out by hand, and no herbicides nor pesticides are used during production. The bunches are selected by hand, until 25% of the harvest is seen to be unfit.
Each variety is vinified seperately, with the whole process of fermentation taking place in stainless Steel tanks with a 5,000 litre capacity. At this point the skins are still intact.
Before being bottled and put on the market, Habla la Tierra is aged for four months in French Oak barrels.
The Habla winery is inspired by Michelangelo, the architect, sculptor and Italian Renaissance painter. The legend goes that when Michelangelo gazed upon his statue of Moses, the statue was so life like he screamed for it to Speak! (or ¡Habla!). So frustrated that it would not come to life, he struck it with a chisel.
The wines of this winery therefore represent the constant strive for perfection.
