About Gerovassiliou Malagousia
Gerovassiliou Malagousia is a single-variety Malagousia white wine, produced by the Ktima Gerovassiliou winery under I.G.P.Epanomi in Thessaly, Greece .
Gerovassiliou Malagousia is made from a variety that was saved from extinction thanks to Vangelis Gerovasssiliu. The grapes go through a cold maceration with their skins. Part of the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at 18ºC and the rest does so in French oak barrels. The resulting wine is aged on its lees for several months in order to gain structure and body.
Vangelis Gerovasssiliu is the creator of Ktima Gerovassiliou, a true enthusiast of study, research and experimentation with both Greek and foreign varieties, who works with the aim of producing high quality wines which are capable of transmitting the tradition and characteristics of the distinctive microclimate of Epanomi, wines that undoubtedly take us to the heart of Greece, to its Mediterranean landscapes, interesting productions which offer us the opportunity to discover grapes that were practically in oblivion.
2019 | Gerovassiliou Malagousia 2019 is an aromatic white wine, on the nose reminiscent of ripe pears, mango and citrus fruits. On the palate, flavors invoking lemon peel stand out and give it an attractive and tasty feel. A fresh, balanced white wine. |
