About Galia Villages
Galia Villages is a red wine crafted by the winery El Regajal, located in the town of Aranjuez in the southern part of the Community of Madrid.
Galia Villages is a blend of the varieties Tempranillo, Albillo, and Garnacha. The grapes are sourced from six small plots of old vines spread along a 130 km stretch of the Duero River, passing through the provinces of Soria, Burgos, and Valladolid. These plots are planted at altitudes ranging from 795 to 968 metres above sea level, featuring calcareous and clay-limestone soils.
Galia Villages is the creation of Jerome Bougnaud, a French oenologist with extensive expertise in crafting terroir wines. Jerome hails from a family of winegrowers in the French region of Cognac and has collaborated with prestigious wineries in Spain such as Quinta Sardonia and Dominio de Pingus.
Galia Villages is a red wine aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. A terroir wine, expressive and with a long aging potential, gradually revealing its full character.
2015 | Galia 2015 is a mature, powerful and complex red wine. In this vintage, the aromas of ripe red fruit stand out, with spicy notes over a very clean toasted base note. On the palate it is intense, silky and very lingering. | |
2012 | A wine that unveils itself as enveloping and robust, yet exudes a refined elegance. Delectable and velvety on the palate.
Marked by a commendable acidity. Harmonious and well-balanced with a medium body.
The finish is dominated by notes of red fruit, minerals, and vanilla. It boasts a cherry-red hue with a purplish edge. Exhibits a dense tear. The bouquet reveals a fresh wine where the prominence of fruit, particularly ripe red berries, is noteworthy. Gradually, nuances of cedar wood, tobacco, minerals, earth, and cinnamon emerge. |
