About Ferraton La Tournée Rouge
Although at first glance, the ‘Vin de France’ label may give the impression of simplicity, never underestimate the power of its producer. There is always much more behind a wine than just a few rules. This is true for Ferraton La Tournée Rouge, a red wine made by Ferraton Père & Fils which, with the help of the prestigious Michel Chapoutier, has achieved impressive results.
Thanks to the winemaker’s involvement, the truth is that Domaine Ferraton has not only maintained its great reputation of more than 70 years, but has also gained new followers who want organic and biodynamic wines like Ferraton La Tournée Rouge. This is a red wine made from the Syrah and Garnacha Tinta varieties from clay-limestone slopes located in the Herault and Gard area of Languedoc-Roussillon, in the south of France. These vines are cultivated following biodynamic principles and without the use of chemical products that could damage the natural balance of the terroir. In the winery, vinification is carried out separately in stainless steel or concrete tanks with native yeasts. It then undergoes a brief maceration of 10 days at a controlled low temperature. Finally, the two varieties are blended and aged on fine lees for a period of time.
So, under the ‘Vin de France’ banner, Ferraton approaches the world of biodynamic wines with their La Tournée range. A fruity immersion that is made under the guidance of great expert Chapoutier, and is a celebration of simplicity at an unbeatable price. Ferraton La Tournée Rouge is a great example of this work.
