About El Chaparral
El Chaparral is a red wine from the Navarra prepared by Bodegas y Viñedos Nekeas. It is a varietal Grenache.
The grapes come from vines between 70 and 100 years old. For final assembly, the plots are carefully selected, this is why the volume of production is different depending on the vintage.
Each plot is fermented separately. Maceration lasts 20 days and at least 8 of these are cold. Malolactic fermentation and aging takes place after 5-6 months.
Bodegas y Viñedos Nekeas was established in 1989, when eight families from Añorbe jointly decided to plant 150 hectares of vineyards. The marketing of wine began in 1992 and today the winery has more than 250 acres.
