Domaine Giachino Freres Giac is a natural red wine made by Domaine Giachino from the Etraire de la Dhuy and Gamay varieties in the IGP Gresivaudan in Savoie, France.
At the foot of the French Alps, in his native Savoie, Giachino cultivates his 9 hectares of vineyards according to biodynamic principles to achieve pure and very evocative mountain wines. Focussed on the recovery of alpine varieties like the rare Persan de Savoie, also known as Etraire de la Dhuy, it gives an extra stamp to pure and very evocative mountain wines.
Domaine Giachino Freres Giachino comes from vines planted at 180 metres above sea level on steep clay and limestone soils. They are cultivated using biodynamic agriculture and natural organic treatments that preserve the natural balance of the terroir and the vine. All their work is manual and the harvest is placed in small boxes.
When the Domaine Giachino Freres Giac grapes reach the winery, the whole bunches are macerated for 10 to 20 days. After pressing, the resulting must is firstly fermented spontaneously with native yeasts and then aged on fine lees. Finally, it is bottled without added sulphites.
Domaine Giachino Freres Giac is a wine that shows the virtues of the Savoie Persan in its natural state, a very rare variety that is native to the Rhône-Alpes region and will transport you in the blink of an eye to the top of the mountains.
