About Domaine de Cambes Bordeaux
Domaine de Cambes Bordeaux 2015 is a red wine coupage of the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc varieties, produced by Domaine de Cambes under the AOC Bordeaux Supérieur in Bordeaux, France.
François Mitjaville, from the Château Le Tertre Rôteboeuf, makes the Domaine de Cambes Bordeaux wine. Mitjaville had humble beginnings. He was the boyfriend of the heiress of the Château Le Tertre Rôteboeuf, who had rented it to her cousins, but when she married Mitjaville they decided to start their own estate by recovering the Chàteau.
François gave up his successful transport business to learn the basics of winemaking at Château Figeac, honing his craft over the years, and making Château Le Tertre Rôteboeuf a success in the mid-1980s. Today, he’s one of the most respected winemakers and also owns the Château Roc de Cambes in Côtes de Bourg where this Domaine de Cambes Bordeaux comes from.
The plots the bunches the Domaine de Cambes Bordeaux wine is made with come from border the Gironde estuary which flows along the slopes. Its influence regulates the climate of the vines, which are planted in soils composed of clays and limestone that give rise to powerful wines which retain their freshness and which, in the case of this wine signed by François Mitjaville, are a marvel.
2015 | Domaine de Cambes Bordeaux 2015 is a concentrated red wine which offers extremely pure and vibrant aromas on the nose, reminiscent of red and black berries with a hint of rose petals. On the palate it’s smooth, with excellent tension, round entry and a subtle touch of sea salt accompanying the black berries that lasts until the finish. A red wine promising excellent optimal storage potential, to be consumed from now until 2028. |
