About Domaine Bonnefond Côte Rôtie Colline de Couzou
Everyone knows that the AOC Côte Rôtie, on the Rhône, produces the best wines in the world with the Syrah grape and the Bonnefond brothers demonstrate this with their Domaine Bonnefond Côte Rôtie Colline de Couzou. This is a single-variety, wood-aged red wine that wonderfully combines power and finesse.
This combination of power and finesse is the result of the work of brothers Christophe and Patrick on the 10 hectares of vineyard they have owned since 1990. Within their Côte Rôtie terroirs, there are two sub-divisions. There are the “Côte Blonde” wines, known for their smoothness, and the “Côte Brune” wines, which are more concentrated and powerful. Combining the fruit from these two soils gives us the opportunity to enjoy this spectacular Domaine Bonnefond Côte Rôtie Colline de Couzou.
The Bonnefond brothers know they are working in a very noble terroir, so they always use environmentally friendly techniques that will not harm the natural balance of the soil or the vine. Likewise, in the winery, Domaine Bonnefond Côte Rôtie Colline de Couzou is vinified with absolute control of the fruit. Firstly, it ferments with native yeasts for 3 weeks in stainless steel tanks, with 20% of the bunches whole, and then the wine ages in 400-litre French oak barrels (10% new wood) for 18 months.
So now you know, if you want to put the best Syrahs in the world to the test, Domaine Bonnefond Côte Rôtie Colline de Couzou is one to try. A powerful and fine Côte Rôtie that you are sure to love.
2018 |
Domaine Bonnefond Côte Rôtie Colline de Couzou 2018 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of rich black and red fruit over a very pleasant spicy background. On the palate it is enveloping, silky and flexible. It reveals a vibrant acidity, with fine tannins and a long mineral finish. |
