About Disznókö Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos
Disznókö Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos is a sweet wine coupage of the Furmint, Zeta and Hárslevelű varieties made by the Disznókö winery in the Tokaj region, Hungary.
The grapes used to make Disznókö Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos come from old vines planted in plots with volcanic clay soils. The Aszú berries, which are known to be affected by Botrytis cinerea, are harvested manually at the optimum point of ripeness and separated by plots. They pass through the vineyards two to four times a day to select the grapes.
Disznókö Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos is an exceptional wine that is only made with vintages where the grapes show greater complexity and concentration. Wines with an unrivalled aging potential. The number of puttonyos relates to the amount of botyrised grapes that are used to make this wine, and can range from 3 puttonyos (less sweet) to 6 puttonyos (sweeter).
The Disznókö winery is in an ideal location for the Aszú grape to grow. When attacking the clusters, the “noble rot” fungus withers the berries leaving them fully ripe and with the right amount of natural sugar and acidity to make these exceptional wines. The Disznókö estate is one of the warmest in the region. It lies at an altitude ranging from 135 to 220 metres above sea level and on clay-volcanic soils that provide a particular personality to each of its wines.

2012 | Disznókö Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos 2012 is a sweet wine with great aromatic finesse. When it is young, it reveals aromas of citrus, honey and tropical fruits and as it ages, it develops a greater complexity with the appearance of toasted and nutty notes. On the palate it is creamy and full-bodied with a fresh acidity. It has a persistent and elegant finish. |
