Clos Lentiscus Perill Noir is a red wine produced by the winery Clos Lentiscus, in Sant Pere de Ribes, Barcelona.
 

Clos Lentiscus is a project aimed at producing wines like those that were made in the past. Wines that are respectful with the land, using classic cultivations methods without pesticides or herbicides. Using the moon as a guidance to plant, prune and harvest, and respecting the wine in the bottling process.
It is a family-run winery located in the heart of the natural park of Garraf. Its vines are mainly planted on sandy-calcareous soils, facing south. Around 20 hectares mostly planted with local varieties and following the biodynamic method.

Clos Lentiscus Perill Noir is a natural wine made from Sumoll from vines planted on sandy-calcareous soils. Harvest is performed by hand. Destemmed and with a maceration process of 15 days. Fermentation is carried out with local yeasts. It is left to age in French oak barrels for 30 months.

 

Clos Lentiscus Perill Noir is a noble and extremely elegant wine. Ripe red fruit and wild flower aromas, accompanied by soft toasting, show us all this variety's potential.

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
