About Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila
Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila is a red wine made in Priorat by the Cims de Porrera winery.
Cims de Porrera is a unique winery. It produces wines using the facilities of the Agricultural Cooperative of the small town of Porrera, and was established with the idea of paying a fair price to the cooperative members who grow the grapes.
Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila is a blend of Carignan and Grenache varieties. The grapes come from various plots of winemakers forming the cooperative.
The grapes come from young vines of different ages, planted in a variety of soils and orientations.
A Ví de Vila (Wine from the town in Catalan) is a classification recognized by Priorat, to distinguish wines made from grapes that come from a single area, in this case Porrera, which tries to find a more concrete typicality than that offered by the name itself.
The production of Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila begins with a stripping of the clusters. Fermentation takes place in small tanks at a controlled temperature.
Once fermentation is complete, Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and spends 3 or 4 years in the bottle before going to market.
