Cara Nord Negre

Red wine Aged in wood Respectful agriculture. 6 months in French oak barrels.
Cara Nord Negre 2022 unveils itself as a youthful and vibrant red wine, an ideal choice for those in pursuit of a light-bodied yet robust beverage. On the nose, it regales us with a medley of blackberry and plum aromas, woven together with mineral nuances and a whisper of fine wood. Upon tasting, its palate is succulent and lively, with a pronounced acidity that breathes life into the wine, and a narrow, refined progression on the palate. The tannins are gentle and seamlessly integrated, contributing to its overall elegance. The finish is smooth and comprehensive, leaving behind a pleasing and enduring impression.

About Cara Nord Negre
Cara Nord Negre is a red wine from D.O. Conca del Barberà, an area with a long wine tradition and they still have a lot to offer.
This is a wine produced by Cara Nord, a winery that was formed in 2012 at the hands of Tomàs Cusiné, Xavier Cepero and Eric Solomon, all with years of experience in the sector and interests in sustainable agriculture.
This wine is a coupage of 42% Garnacha, 38% Syrah and 20% Garrut grown from vineyards surrounded by high mountains and forests belonging to the Natural Park in the Prades Mountains and the Natural Park in the Poblet Forrest.
The vineyards are isolated at an altitude of 800m, planted in poor slate soil and clay-limestone with rocky outcrops, cliffs and mountains.
The Mediterranean-continental climate is characterised by cold winters and short summers. The cold temperatures slow the accumulation of sugars, conserving acidity and providing very expressive and fruity bunches.
As for the vinification, directed by Tomàs Cusiné, it is fermented at 24ºC in stainless steel deposits in order to obtain maximum expression possible for the vines. Finally, Cara Nord Negre undergoes an aging for 6 months in French oak barrels.

2014 | Delectable and fruity, with pleasantly mature tannins. Radiant cherry hue. Spiced notes and hints of fruit accompanied by nuances from its aging process. |

2013 | On the palate it is very juicy. A good acidity, fine and soft tannins are a good ensemble. Creamy aftertaste. Black with violet reflections. Shiny appearance. Thick tears that fall slowly in the glass. On the nose it very elegant. There is black fruit together with balsamic and mineral notes. |
