About Camins del Priorat

Camins del Priorat is a red wine coupage of the Garnacha, Cariñena, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties produced by the Álvaro Palacios winery in the D.O. Q. Priorat in Gratallops, Catalonia.

The grapes used to make the Camins del Priorat wine grow in eight different municipalities: Gratallops, Porrera, Torroja, Les Vilelles, Bellmunt, El Molar, El Lloar and Poboleda. Each of these places have the characteristic Priorat soils made up of licorella (slate) and the vines range in age from 11 to 41 years old.

When the grapes reach the winery, the clusters are completely destemmed and gently squeezed to begin alcoholic fermentation, which takes place with native yeasts and in cement and wooden vats with cap plunges. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in vats and ages in barrels and wooden vats for four to six months, depending on the vintage.

Camins del Priorat is the perfect introduction and overview of the sensations and landscapes that Álvaro Palacios, a renowned winemaker recognized worldwide, showcases through each of his wines.

Camins del Priorat 2022 beckons us on a stroll through an orchard brimming with ripe red fruits, where cherries and raspberries interlace with nuances of cocoa and a whisper of black licorice. Upon tasting, its rounded and voluptuous nature is evident, counterpoised by an acidity that accentuates its inherent sweetness. The vivacity endures in a prolonged and lingering finish, leaving an agreeable and seamless impression on the palate.
2021

Camins del Priorat 2021 is a profound, sophisticated, and charismatic red wine. It boasts a deep cherry hue with violet glints. The bouquet is powerful, accentuating ripe and succulent fruit notes (watermelon, banana), floral aromas (roses, carnations), liquorice, and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is velvety, with flavors of blackberries and blackcurrants. Harmoniously balanced, full-bodied, and lingering. The tannins are opulent. It is enticing, vibrant, and ample.
2020 Camins del Priorat 2020 is an opulent red wine that, on the nose, presents a bouquet evocative of succulent, ripe red fruits, complemented by floral nuances and a delectable mineral undertone. Upon tasting, it glides smoothly across the palate, exuding a fresh sensation, brimming with a luscious fruitiness and superbly integrated, vibrant acidity. This red is enticing, with a prolonged and enduring finish.
2019 Camins del Priorat 2019 is an eloquent red wine boasting an exquisite bouquet of both red and black fruits such as raspberries and cherries, complemented by hints of aromatic herbs like lavender, and nuanced with mineral undertones of slate. On the palate, it presents as a medium-bodied wine adorned with refined tannins and seamlessly integrated acidity. The finish is extensive and remarkably enduring.
2018 Camins del Priorat 2018 is a red wine with aromas of ripe and juicy red fruits on the nose, accompanied by floral nuances and mineral and liquorice notes. On the palate it is delicate and tasty, with velvety tannins that accompany a sweet and fruity expression. The perfect wine to open now, but that can also be kept for up to five years.
2014 The entry is friendly and tasty, with a good balance. The wood is well assembled with a fruity finish.

2011 In the palate, this red wine is expressive and intense. It has a powerful and mellow attack and a fresh mid palate, with a good acidity and marked tannins. Nice finish with fruity, milky, mineral, roasted and spicy notes. Very pleasant.

Clean, high intensity nasal aromas in which the red and black fruit notes stand out along with nice and sweet toasted and spicy aromas on an interesting mineral background.
2010 Camins del Priorat is a broad wine which coats the mouth. It has a silky and tasty mid palate, with noticeable notes of fruit and flowers. It is intense but not powerful and shows polished tannins. It has a slightly marked acidity. This wine has a good but not very long finish.  It is a very elegant, tasty and inviting wine. Very nice wine which will help us discover the friendly face of Priorat.

Very intense and very enjoyable aromas. A good load of very expressive, ripe and juicy red and black fruit notes is released along with abundant hints of flowers on an elegant mineral background. It gradually evolves while a wide range of aromas is released, in which the notes of spices, the milky hints and the toasted aromas nicely accompany the notes of fruit. Its elegant balsamic background provides it with freshness.
2009 Camins del Priorat is a broad and mouth-filling wine with a round, silky and very tasty mid palate and a high presence of fruit and flowers. Intense (not powerful) and with polished tannins. Slightly sharp acidity. Good finish but not too long. A very elegant and tasty wine that invites to have another helping. Very nice and perfect to discover the friendly face of the D.O. Priorat.

Very pleasant and with a medium intensity. Its charge of fruit fruit is released over a good floral background with slate mineral hints and balsamic and herbal nuances that freshen the wine. Subtle milky touches and light toasted touches are also noticed.
2008

It is in the palate, where this red wine from Priorat shows more intensity. Large attack that immediately fills the mouth, with a nice mid palate, very polished and tasty, intense. Lots of fruit with slight hints of cocoa and creamy notes. Long and powerful aftertaste. A very elegant intense wine.

2007 Flavor is light, with a mineral finish. Soft tannins well blended with a slight acidity.
