Diego Seco Ecológico is a white wine made with the native Diego variety (also known as white Vijariego) that Bodegas Los Bermejos produces in the D.O. Lanzarote.
Being one of Lanzarote's best-known families, Bodegas Los Bermejos resurfaced from oblivion in 2001 to become the island's benchmark winemaker. The secret lies in enhancing the area’s special soil and climate conditions and thus obtain a unique grape that is a product of the volcanic landscape.
If the vineyards for La Geria (Lanzarote) stand out for any ting, it is because they are planted in holes in volcanic sand. Known as picones, Bermejo Diego Seco Ecológico began life in these original excavations designed to conserve all the humidity of the plant and protect it from strong gusts of wind. It is an organic crop in which a careful sanitary control is applied during all the phases, and a meticulous selection is made when it has ripened.
Once harvested, the local Diego variety with which Bermejo Diego Seco Ecológico is made is fermented in a stainless steel vat at a low temperature to extract all its aromatic characteristics.
Bermejo Diego Seco Ecológico is a white wine produced from volcanic sands and a sub-desert climate.
